Have you ever been a pacer? If so, please list the races in the form below (racing biography).

Important
Pacing involves a stable and even pace throughout the race, with the finish line being crossed with a maximum deviation of ±45 seconds from the set time.

If the pacer does not meet the set target time and deviates from the planned pace, he/she loses the right to participate in the role of pacer at all subsequent editions of the Boka Marathon!!!

Note
By agreeing to the role of pacer, you also accept the general rules of the event, including professional and responsible behavior towards all participants, the organizer, and the race rules.

Register now

After verification of applications, selected pacers will receive a special promo code for registration which allows them free race registration. This code must be entered during regular race registration.

If for any reason the candidate is not selected for desired target time, the organizer can contact the candidate and offer the opportunity to be a pacer for other time, in accordance with the needs of the race.

Pacer competition

All pacers participate in a competition for the most accurate pacer of the race.

The goal is to meet the target time as accurately as possible, with a stable pace throughout the race.

Rules

For each pacer, the following are analyzed:

  • split times
  • total finishing time

The total deviation from the ideal pace and target time is calculated.
The winner is the pacer who has least total deviation.

Example

A pacer for a 3:00 marathon should run at a pace of 4:15/km.

If on certain kilometers they go:

  • 4:10 (–5 seconds)
  • 4:20 (+5 seconds)
  • 4:18 (+3 seconds)

The deviations are added together (regardless of sign), and the total deviation is 13 seconds.

The pacer with the smallest overall deviation throughout the entire race is the winner.

Award

The most accurate pacer wins:

  • entry fee for the Split or Boka Marathon in 2027
  • weekend stay in a 5★ hotel for two people during the marathon weekend in Split/Boka
